Some of our most memorable conversations happen with a few people over a good glass of wine. That's what inspired us to launch our newest adventure: monthly salons featuring thought-provoking guests. Each month after we will invite a new guest speaker who specializes in a topic related to themes from The Uncondemned. to speak to and engage with the Film at Eleven community here in New York City
Date: November 17
Location: Paname Restaurant, 1068 2nd Ave (between 56th and 57th)
Melissa will be speaking about her upcoming feature on incarcerated battered women and the failure of the criminal justice system to respond fairly to domestic violence survivors who fight back against their abusers.
A reporter and editor living in Brooklyn, Melissa is currently a senior editor at The Huffington Post, and formerly worked at MSNBC and Talking Points Memo. Check out "A Look Back At The Trial That Made Rape A War Crime," and find her on Twitter.
The salon will be an intimate and informal discussion. Melissa will present on her work and then afterwards the table will open up to questions and conversation based off of her presentation. The Uncondemned co-directors Nick Louvel and Michele Mitchell will be there to moderate.
This event is free but space is limited (maximum 6 guests) so RSVP quickly before all of the spaces are taken!
